The Belleview Biltmore Hotel is one of the first attractions to the Clearwater area - and it's still in operation. Another historical significant showing is Heritage Park just south of Clearwater in Largo. Preserved structures with period furniture and actors.

Old Florida tourist haunts of the 60's are still are open for business on the back streets of Clearwater Beach - most all the beachfronts have been torn down and resurrected into concrete, steel, stucco and glass.

History

It's not hard ot imagine what Clearwater looked like from the beginning of time until about 150 years ago since the residents have been very careful to preserve so many natural and ecologically sensitive habitats.

Other than that and a few srtifacts of the native american indians who lived along the coastal areas, most historical remnants are quite modern - late 19th Century to the present.
