Making Your Way Around Clearwater and Vicinity

Once you make it to the beach area, the main North/South road is Gulf Blvd. There's a nice Trolley system that runs up and down the beach and is quite inexpensive. The main road going East/West is SR 60, and ends at Pier 60 in Clearwater beach and runs East to the Tampa Airport.

Car rentals in Florida are generally pretty inexpensive compared to national rates. However, many visitors to Clearwater use the friendly Suncoast Trolley to get around. It's cheap and can be fun.

Taxis are available as well as gound transportation to and from the Tampa Airport. Local bus service, while regular, can be a time consuming experience.

So, if you're planning on staying in the Clearwater Beach area, use the trolley, but if you want to get around and broaden your vistas, a car is a good idea.
