Sandman Motel
Sandman Resort is a clean and reasonable mom-pop motel where you will feel secure and comfortable because of the motel's policies and the accommodations. There are different kinds of rooms offered at this motel. Guests can choose from standard, deluxe or V.I.P. rooms and efficiencies depending upon their budget and other preferences.
It is very likely that you won't find spring break crowd here. The minimum age to reserve a room here is 23 years with a valid credit card and identification. Students must be accompanied by an older, responsible person in order to stay at Sandman. Guests at this motel have access to an outdoor pool, a BBQ area and a private dock. Laundry facility is also available on the premises.
Sandman Motel is practically priced, close to everything, has a great view of the bay, a clean pool, well-mannered staff, ample parking and comfy rooms.
Sandman Resort was built in 1954, and its dated look will speak of the motel's long history. Much of the resort, however, was remodeled to give the guests a pleasurable experience.
Located just 400 feet from the beautiful Clearwater Beach, this motel is an awesome deal for the price you pay. Just a short walk from this hotel and you will find yourself wiggling your toes in the white powdery sands of the beach. While Sandman is located on Hamden Drive next to many more motels and lodgings, it is one of the very few "livable" and reasonable accommodations so close to the Clearwater Beach.
Sandman Resort has about 25 units housed in the two-story structure. All units are different kind of accommodations meant for varied preferences and number of guests. There are 6 standard motel rooms, 8 apartments and 11 efficiencies at this motel. Standard rooms and apartments are either located on the street side or pool side. If you do not mind noises, then street-side units might not be an issue for you and you'll save some bucks.
There are courtyard-facing small efficiencies and pool-facing large efficiencies. All efficiencies come with one room, a kitchenette and basic shower/tub. One- and two-bedroom apartments are fully furnished as well and come with average-sized rooms, basic kitchen and living room with sitting area.
If you would like to increase the room space and level of comfort, select Sandman's poolside deluxe apartment or poolside V.I.P efficiency. For a little more price, you will get more beds, spacious living room with sitting area, sofa bed, kitchenette and two bathrooms. V.I.P efficiency will also give you the privilege of bay views and so will the two-bedroom apartment with a private entrance.
When you haven't had enough of the neighboring beach, Sandman's fairly large heated pool will allow you some more time of relaxing swim. You can also choose to sit by the poolside in their comfy chairs. This outdoor pool overlooks the calm waters of the Clearwater Bay and provides a perfect setting for some leisure time.
There is even a dock on the premises for the motel guests to relax and enjoy the view. If you need to catch your own food, you can spend some time fishing at the dock and then head out to the motel's BBQ grill to prepare the day's meal. Since this is a motel, you should not be expecting a whole lot of on-site activities to spend your day. Make the most of your Clearwater Beach visit by heading out to several local attractions and return to the motel for a good night's sleep after the day of fun.
When you are in mood for some excitable activities, you will find a lot of parasailing, kayaking and surfing options close by. For some calmer days, you can choose to learn about bottlenose dolphins at Clearwater Marine Aquarium and spend some time at one of the most beautiful beaches, Caladesi Island State Park. Since you will be so close to the Clearwater Beach, do not miss out on the sunsets at Pier 60 and stay longer to enjoy live entertainments and arts and crafts.
Sandman Resort requires its guests to make a $100 deposit with credit card to guarantee a room. You can ask for a rollaway bed and crib for an additional per day charge. To make reservations, a three-day minimum stay is required at this motel. You might, however, try talking to the staff for any special arrangements.
