Captain Memo’s Pirate Ship Cruise

Gleaming white sand, serene blue waters and pleasant waves - there's yet another fun side to Clearwater besides all this. Pirates' Ransom is what this adventurous side of Clearwater is called. A large vessel, bright red in color, screaming loud of the horrific yesteryears and boasting some Jolly Roger flags, sits on the waters of Clearwater Beach waiting to add to the list of memorable experiences of the visitors. It's an authentic pirate ship offering daily cruises to the high seas of Clearwater Beach and Gulf of Mexico. For visitors to Clearwater, it might be a good idea to take a shot at this during your vacation.

Captain Memo and his crew members make sure to deliver the best of experience to kids and adults alike. You can choose from day cruises or sunset cruises to best match your schedule and mood. Do it for your young ones or even for yourself, if you have a soft spot for pirates. Chaotic, loud, rugged and fun - the cruise is everything that your kids will love. Complimentary drinks are served on the deck from lemonade to soft drinks and from beer to wine and champagne. You can join in the fun with the young pirates and the crew of the ship or sneak with you partner to the upper deck to enjoy sometime alone on the Gulf waters. Your kids will be having the time of their life with the pirates and it can be very likely, they will not even notice your absence.

Pirates wearing eye patches, pantaloons and bandanas sing and dance along with the kids. Sporting pirate hats and playing Buccaneers, the little pirates are treated to activities like musical chairs, limbo and sessions of pirate stories.  Squirt gun fights with the pirates are a favorite with children. And so is the blasting of cannons - a specialty of Captain Memo's Pirates' Ransom. Face painting and treasure hunt are also a part of this cruise's experience.

The onboard pirate experience continues when Captain Memo takes you to the far seas of Gulf for some dolphins sightseeing. Plentiful dolphins jump along the sailing ship on its way to the Captain's Deserted Island where the ship's crew blasts a warning shot for any enemies around. So the point is made - the pirates do all they can to offer you a real-like ancient experience.

If you are an ardent fan of the pirates, Captain Memo's ship can arrange to make your special occasions even more special. How about a romantic wedding aboard the Pirates' Ransom? Birthday parties are not uncommon on this vessel. Private and group charters are also popular on this "ancient" vessel. For two hours and maximum of 30 guests, you would have to pay about $1,500 for a private charter. The ship has the maximum capacity of 125 passengers and is well-equipped with life-saving equipments like life jackets, life rafts and radio. The daytime tours operate twice daily from Monday to Saturday, at 10 am and 2 pm and only once on Sunday at 2 pm. The hours of operation for Sunset cruises, though, varies according to the season.

In case you are not too willing for a noisy ride, do not have kids and are looking for a quiet cruise on the Gulf of Mexico, Captain Memo's tour might not be the one for you.
